14 YEARS!?! And AWESOME Movie!!

Hi guys!
Today is my 14th birthday!!  I can't believe it!  I am so grateful to God that he has let me live these 14 years.  Some of you would ask the question, "How does it feel to be 14 years old?" and I really don't know.  When I was younger and it was my birthday, I would be so happy and jumping around the place.  But now that I'm older, I don't feel that anymore, which is kind of sad. :(  Instead I feel a sense of duty!  I mean, every year for my birthday, I didn't do any chores.  And now this year I'm doing chores!!!  Of course I'm trying to do little bits of chores, but I''m still doing it! Why I feel this way I have know idea.  So that is how I feel.  Long way to say it, but oh well! :)
Last night Zoe, my parents and I watched "Pride and Prejudice" and I am loving it!  We are watching the old version and they do it so throughly!  Mr. Bingly is so jolly and at the beginning Mr. Darcy was so cold and mean!  Elizabeth is a beauty and so is her sister, Jane.  It was so funny how Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth kept on running into each other!  And I can't believe that Mr. Bingly left Jane!  I mean they were meant for each other!  Even after he left her to go back to London, you could tell that he was still in love with Jane.  It is also the most romantic movie I (and my sister) have ever seen!  Actually it is the only romantic movie we have watched.  Oh, I almost forgot about Mrs. Bennet!  Such a whiner, and always complaining about her nerves!  And she has no problem about speaking her mind! And what a mind she has!  I hope you guys haven't gotten tired of me talking about "Pride and Prejudice", but now I have to go.
Blog you later!

How Time Flies!

Hi followers!  I bet some of you guys agree with me that time really does fly!  Today is October 19th and it seems like October 1st!  Well, at least to me it does. :)
I have a heart for missions and I am hoping that one day, I will become a missionary too.  The question is, "Where?"   About a week ago, a missionary couple visited our church.  The Foremans minister in Turkey.  It sounds like a place in need, but is it the place that God wants me to go?  Today a missionary family of four visited our church.  They, the Havenga family, minister in the Solomon Islands.  They are helping write a Bible in the several languages of the islands.  It sounds like another place in need.  As you have read in my "About Me" section, I have two younger sisters who have been adopted from China.  I sometimes wondered if I should go there.  There was one time when I thought that I was being called to Haiti.  And another time when I thought that I was being called to Africa.  But who knows?  I might just become a missionary in my home state!
Well, just today, I relized that my 14th birthday is in about a month!  I can't believe it!

Sick Family

Hi everyone!  Unfortunately my family is sick with some sort of virus.  Basically, we are coughing a lot.  It started with Charlie, then Wil got sick, then me, then Poppy, then Zoe, and then Mommy, and then Lily, and last of all Dad.  Poor Wil has been the worst of us all.  Mom is second and I am third!  I can tell you that it is not fun!
Oh!  I forgot to mention that on September 15th, Poppy turned 4 years old!  She loved the cards. We learned that we should always give her a card on her birthday!  We love our little pumpkin!

Happy Birthday, Charlie!

Hi guys and girls!  Today is my little brother, Charlie's, BIRTHDAY!!  He is now 8 years old.  I love my little brother and am glad that he is my brother.  He is cute, funny, has the cutest voice, loves doing tickle fights with me (when he's getting tickled and not me, I don't like getting tickled:) ), makes the funniest words (like words that you've never heard of in this world), and in the end he's just plain neat-o!
We decided to start school early this year and we started on the August 12.  I am officially in 8th grade!  Last year was a jump for me, with all the extra school and such.  And I knew that this year was going to be tuff to, but it was still a jump.  I'm starting to wonder, "How many times am I going to be jumped on?!?".  Zoe and Wil are now both in 6th grade, Charlie in 4th, and Lily in Kindergarden!  She really likes school, though she has plenty of troubles.  On the second day of school, something hit me.  Zoe, Wil, and I are all in middle school!  So I did some math and found out that we will be in middle school together for one year, until I go into high school, and then be with me in high school for two years!  You all are probably thinking, "Well, Sammy, what are you going to do when you get to college?".  Well, the truth is that I'm not sure if I will go to college.  I'm thinking of getting married, having kids, and just being a mom!  But, I have been thinking very  seriously about getting a college education so that way I can become a missionary.  I feel like God is calling me to become one, but I don't know where.  I'm all so thinking about becoming a photographer. :)
This past month we have been remodeling our kitchen and it is pretty much done.  We need to paint some doors, do a little touch up painting, and some other things.  While we were doing this weren't able to have any families over for supper, lunch, or any thing else.  Well since we are basically done we have had one family over and on Saturday we will have three families over!
Sorry that I haven't posted in a long time.  It has been a little on the crazy side.  Hope to post to you soon!

An Update

Hi!  Sorry that I haven't been "blogging" as much as I should.  Lately Zoe, Wil, Charlie, and I have been playing soccer.  Which for us homeschoolers, it is good for us since we don't have a gym class (except for 15 push-ups, 20-30 sit-ups, which I hate, and 50 jumping-jacks).
This Thursday is Charlie's 8th birthday!  Which means no school!  He is so excited!
Please pray for my little sister, Poppy.  She has a small fever and she has been a little squirt.  Pray that my parents will have patience in taking care of her.  She can be difficult when she's not feeling well.

Movies, Trips, Nervousness, and Babies

Hi, guys and gals!  This is my second post and I am loving this blog so far!  Have any of you watched "How to train your Dragon"?  Today we got the movie!  We are going to watch it tonight, after the little girls go to bed.  It is an awesome movie (we already got to see it on vacation)! It is  "Spectacular!  A must see!"  I can hardly wait for number two to come out.  It will, trust me.  We have seen some previews of the second one and it is awesome!!
A week from Saturday, I will be going to Chicago with a cousin.  Why you ask?  Well, my mom's parents are taking each of their grandchildren, at the age of twelve, on a birthday trip.  "Wait, aren't you thirteen?" you say.  Yes, I am.  Last year we were planning on going to Denver, Colorado.  But we (my family) got sick, so we weren't able to go.  So we are going this year.  We are going to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  I can't wait!  This is the first trip I'm going to take with no one in my immediate family (dad, mom, my three sisters, and my two brothers).  Unfortunately, I will be gone on Wil's birthday!  I have to confess that I'm nervous about going on this trip.  I'm the type of person that worries about trips, all the time!  I mean, no matter how hard I try, I can not stop being nervous.  And most of the time, when I'm nervous about forgetting to bring something, I DO forget something!  So if anyone has any ideas about controlling nervousness, PLEASE tell me.
Last night we went to our church's Care Group.  Anyway, please pray for a mom in our Care Group who is due with a baby TOMORROW!!  Pray that all will go well.  Another mom in our Care Group (there are several families in our Care Group) had a baby three weeks ago. It's a girl and she is the cutest little thing!  I would love to take her home!  Sometimes I'll tell myself, "I can't wait until I have a child of my own!", and other times I'm telling myself, "Well...I would like for a child of my own, I just don't like going through the process.".
I love posting to you guys and gals and I can't wait until I can post again!

Welcome to my blog:)

Hi, my fans! Oh, wait. I don't have any fans. Oh shoot! Well, I haven't introduced myself properly (unless you have already read my profile!). My name is Sammy and I am 13 and am going into 8th grade. I like......well, you can read about my likes in my profile. I have a sister named Zoe, who has turned 11 on June 3rd. She is going into 6th grade and she is a audiobook maniac! She also likes soundtrack songs and crafts. She and I are alike in many ways (though she doesn't read books as much as I do!). I have two brothers named, Wil and Charlie. Wil is 9 (going on 10 on the 23rd of June) and likes science, star wars Legos, Chima Legos, Lego city Legos, playing outside, ninjas, movies, and playing on screens. He has broken both of his arms when he was younger (at different times though). He is also very strong (though he doesn't realize it) and he can run faster than me. Charlie is a cute little guy and a sweetie. He is 7. He LOVES Angry Birds! He loves any type of Lego, likes to help people (when he's in the mood), and mainly likes most of the stuff on Wil's list. And they both have a habit of making up words and silly stories. Are you getting tired of me? Well, I'm almost done with my siblings list, so don't worry. I have two more sisters, Lily and Poppy. Lily is 5 and Poppy is 3. They both love music, love playing with each other, wrecking puzzles (and not putting them together again), playing with Legos, coloring, and singing with songs. They were both adopted from China and have special needs. Lily is weak in her right side and we are exercising it to help it become strong. It is a slow process, but we are making progress. Poppy has EB (Epidermolysis Bullosa) which is a skin disease that makes her skin fragile and weak. It will stay with her for forever, but hopefully when she grows up she will become more careful and won't get as many boo-boos. Poppy is a little stinker and very cute!

Okay, I have finished my list of siblings, five to be exact. Now my parents, my dad for starters. At almost every single supper, there is a pleading to my dad for a story. In my opinion, my dad is the best storyteller in the whole world! He also works hard, makes us laugh (a lot!), is our principal (I forgot to mention that we are homeschooled), makes many voices and faces, is a Christian, helps me understand things that I don't understand, and is the best dad in the entire world. My mom and I have the best conversations that a teenager needs in this world. I know that that is a weird beginning for my mom, but I consider those conversations the best part about my mom. My mom is also a teacher, great at finding deals (though she says that her sister is better at finding better deals than her), a great cook, finds great movies (my family is a pack of movie lovers), works extremely hard (next to dad :)), and she is the best mom in the whole world. Whew! That's a load off my chest! I hope you like my first post!!
